T/D Carbine price?
I hate to do it but I just can't shoot my carbine with the open sights. It is a 1880, slotted screws, full butt stock kit, barrel was relined by Bob Hoyt. Barrel is 3 groove, .458".
What is a fair price for it? I know it is hard to say for certain without photos, but better than average.

Re: Peep sights?
I would figure that it was never removed since 1880. I can only imagine what it would take to remove it from the back of the action trough.

Peep sights?
So the eyes are getting to the point that the rear sight on my carbine is blurry. Options are to shoot with light power reading glasses or a peep sight. I do not want to drill and tap my 1880 Carbine for a tang peep. Any other options? I thought about a cut-down being sold on another board. Who care...

Need a hammer
A local guy has a wall hanger 1884 rifle that is missing the hammer. Any sources. Pending more photos, I feel it is a good deal.

Re: 50/70 sharps questions....
I have one that I have owned for a bunch of years. 20+. You can make a new front sight blade from a piece of brass. I shoot a smokeless load in it. Not a great deer killer so far as dropping them in their tracks. I find that that big lead bullet just goes right through them and they bleed out.
