Fred, I believe you can edit your add?? I do not know if they charge extra but you can have your add highlighted in yellow. When someone searches for trapdoors or just clicks on the Springfield trapdoor tab your add will always show at the top.
That one’s a beauty! Along with mine of course

I didn’t choose any upgrades. There aren’t that many 1868’s listed.

I readjusted the price of #86 by taking a Grand off of it.
Because I’m not hurting for money nor am I a particularly greedy person, I got to thinking about bringing the price down a bit so that any interested folks could more easily afford it. I think what I’m asking for #86 is reasonable considering it’s condition and rarity.

I’ve still some photos to take of this rifle today to submit to Dick Hosmer, but here are some photos I was able to take the other day of 1868 rifle serial number 6.
This rifle, like the Five rifles before it and the Three or Four rifles after it, were all prototypes of the final model to be developed and produced.
On this rifle, there are features that aren’t seen on (as far as anyone knows) any of the double or triple digit 1868/1868,’s. It would be interesting to see the features on the other rifles, 1 through 10.
Therein will lie the evolution of the 1868.
Like probably each of the other single digit 1868/1868’s, serial number 6 is probably unique in its features. The only one of its type.
One of the Three known single digit serial numbered Prototypes.
The other two rifles are in the Springfield Armory Museum.
