Re: trapdoor value
Pretty decent looking '84! You would have to look for awhile to find a better one.

Thanks Guys,
I'm trying to help out the LGS guy, as he doesn't do the internet thing.
It's a really clean rifle, I'll take pictures Monday, but don't think I can post them.
Might have to email them to someone, and have them post pics for me.

Re: trapdoor value
There were 19 more rifles just like it in their case that was sold off to someone, possibly in the 1940’s or 1950’s.
Unissued and mint.

Re: trapdoor value
BUT, you know that Major Tom just sold one only a bit nicer for $3200 at Simpsons? IF I were still buying, I'd probably have given you $1200. The guys at Allentown are probably jaded.
Re: trapdoor value
I thought my 84 was decent but yours is fanatics. Anyway hang in there remember 1903's and M1 Carbines I can remember seeing them muzzle down in large wooden barrels in backwoods gun shops for 15 to 25 dollars Those days are gone,
Re: trapdoor value
I seen that it sold but didn't know how much it sold for. I figured mine is worth between 1500.00 to maybe 1900.00 which is why I was asking for 1200.00. I would make a couple dollars and if purchased by a vendor they would make a couple bucks. But no sale was made so now it's back in the rack.Dick Hosmer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2023 5:01 am BUT, you know that Major Tom just sold one only a bit nicer for $3200 at Simpsons? Thanks Kenneth, it is a nice one.
I have another with the same date which is nicer. Don't really need 2 with the same date but since I don't need to sell it, it is now back in the rack
Re: trapdoor value
I recently sold my M84 rifle with original bayonet and scabbard and sling for $3200 at Simpsons in Galesburg, Ill. It was pristine!! Dick Hosmer has a similar one to mine with close serial numbers. I bought it years ago from Al Frasca's old website for $1400. I hated to sell the old girl, but who ever bought it I know will treat it well.
