Well thank you, Andy. I AM proud of it - had it for almost 35 years now. No safe queen, that's for sure. We'll never know, but I like to believe it was carried by a serving officer (perhaps even one with a name we'd recognize) somewhere on the frontier . . . Wonder if Vance Haynes is ever going to publish his OM book; I filled out his questionnaire almost as soon as I acquired the rifle. Time to thank Tom Trevor again for parting with his spare Beach sight. The rifle came with a funky (and incomplete) "barrel-shaped" sight - which I've saved of course.

Worn or not, that one looks pretty good to me! I doubt I'll ever get a chance to caretake one but I can always dream. Maybe someday.....
