Trapdoor Carbine help

Post by JohnB »

I just found this site and perhaps you folks can help a new member with his newly acquired carbine.

The gun is in nice condition but is missing the saddle ring.
Any suggestion where I could get a replacement?

Thanks,
John

S and S Firearms in New York can supply you with a replica ring for 8.00 if that is good for you or search e-bay and see what comes up for an original and expect to pay a lot more.

Link to S&S catalog page with trapdoor parts- (there are 10+pages to dig thru)

If you actually hunt with it, you want to take that ring off, or wrap it with electrical tape. It can make noise at the most inopportune moment. I suspect that a lot of rings disappeared that way.

Don,

Thanks for the link. Since it appears to be original, I went ahead and bought it.

Thanks again!
