All posts here are subject to deletion at any time without notification to the authors. Obviously spam, off-topic posts, argumentative posts and the like will be deleted as soon as noticed.
However, some posts might at some point become simply no longer needed, and just take up digital storage space, especially those with images which can use a lot of space. Space is not a problem today, but a few KB or MB here and there and after a few years you are talking about a LOT of storage space, which is not free!
I may or may not check with posters before removing old posts, such as early test posts done to figure out how the new forum works, or those related to salvaging content from the old forum. Generally this will be done by deleting a complete thread, rather than individual posts within a thread.
Just so you know what will be going on behind the scenes.

John S:
peegee53 is very glad to be here, and in such august company.
You mention the the posting of "a LOT of storage space" in pictures: What size(s) of files to submit are effective without being too big, or too small, and are any formats rejected?
Many thanks,
p

Re: CONTENT DELETION POLICY
PG- .jpg seems to be the preferred format, but others will probably work as well.
As far as size, I am not concerned about 400KB or less, but when you get into MB size photos, they eat up a lot of space.
If we get into a storage crunch, the bigger the size, the higher it will be on the priority list for deletion, unless it is really great stuff, and even then I may resize the image and replace it.
This is mostly a warning for contingency planning purposes. Just so no one gets the idea that if they post something that there is any promise it will appear at all, or stay for a little while, let alone be here forever. This will be fun for users, and the cost and workload for upkeep need to be kept at a level that it is still fun for me.
The priority is to preserve and share the great info Al Frasca has created over the last several decades. The forum is a lower priority.
