Anyone try the Lyman 330 gr. Gould HP bullet mould?

Yeah, I was surprised such a heavy bullet expanded that much, it was fired from 100 yards away so it lost some velocity too. I hope I get a rifle deer tag this year, this will be the bullet I use.

I ended up getting a lee collet crimp die and it works really well. The hollow point version of this bullet shoots incredibly well, it cut my groups in half with my carbine. It’ll do 2-3” groups from the bench. My 1884 infantry rifle shoots them even better and I’m pretty sure it would do 1” as long as you didn’t let the fouling get out of hand and had a better shooter than me behind the trigger, lol. Man to have 20 year old vision again. I would have bet money the solid bullet would have been more accurate but it’s not. I’m very excited to try the bullet on big game.

So I shot a deer today with those bullets out of my star serial carbine using the big hollow pointed bullets and 62gr of powder. It knocked the deer off her feet and that was all she wrote. I actually found the bullet in the mud behind her about 8” deep. The bullet expanded nicely but I used a harder alloy and wish I had made it a little softer.
