Much better! They could use a little more light - but, none-the-less, a great improvement.

I would note for those interested that #127 has the 'odd' rear sight which I first noticed on my #62. A 'regular' M1868 sight has a line for 900 yards, and the numbers are a little lower on the leaf. That sight appears on a few of the early guns, but not in direct progression (or, some of the lower guns with standard sights are actually replacements0. Since 127 is believed to be near the end of the 1868-produced rifles, maybe they ALL had the 'odd' sight to begin with? Need more examples, HAHA. I'll check over my table and post it - there have been a few updates since Al hosted it under "News" some years ago.

Enough of the original sight on rifle 93 was still present to identify it as the updated type with the 9 on a line and the upper notch un numbered. This broken sight was replaced with an original of the same type.

Close but not the latest, missing 105. Did you add a rear sight to 93, I've had it as "missing"? If so, what kind, odd or normal? I'll clean up the chart and repost. How do present owners feel about having their last name (ONLY) listed, in lieu of "private collection"?

I wasn’t aware that rifle #105 was located.
I knew #107 had been. It’d been sporterized.

I’d replaced 93’s broken rear sight with another original of the same type.
Shown is the broken updated rear sight off of #93 next to an earlier experimental sight.
Notice the difference in the placement of the graduated lines.
