M1873 Bayonet

Post by jeffd »

Anybody know where I can find a bayonet for my 1884? I just need the bayonet, as I already have a scabbard. Thanks in advance for any help.

Jeff- I have several in varying condition. Please post a photo of your rifle around the lock/breech area so I can get a feel for condition and pull one to match. Price will vary with condition.

I surrender! Being not very computer literate when it comes to posting pictures, I have unsucessfully tried everything I know to post pictures here and keep getting a - post too large response. I can usually manage to send pictures in an email, but not on this discussion board.
You got me thinking and the bayonet that I already have matches my M1884 better than my M1873, therefore, I am in search of one to match my M1873 instead. My M1873 retains much of it's bluing and has very good case color on the block and tang. Unfortunately, someone has previously lightly sanded the stock. It belonged to my father, so it's a keeper to me!

Hello Jeff

To resize your photos try this one

"For all you others who are having difficulties here is a simple solution

http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/

Set the "Avatar size to 90 and hit "resize" and then Download, it may clip the avatar a bit.

On the left side of page it also has a "resize" link for posting pictures, you can play around with it, I loaded a 2.08MB photo used the "600 pixels" button and it resized it to 46kb."
Thank You
Don
