73 with interesting history

Post by Bill Faye »

I was in Tillamook Or last week and went to the Tillamook pioneers museum Founded in 1935. This 1873 rifle was in the room housing past sheriffs items. It is in decent condition and complete. The interesting part is the label said it was used by the 1929 sheriff John Chester "Chet" Holden. What he used it for was not indicated. Hard to imagine for business but? It would be nice to know more but the lady working there didn't have any information. The museum is in the old court house and has 55,000 items in inventory. There are 3 floors of exhibits so a lot to see.

If you go up and down I5 occasionally, we might get together for coffee or a beer sometime? Maybe a little "show and tell"?

Yes. Would like that. Not sure of next trip up 5 but will be in the next months. I will connect by email to arrange. Use to spend a lot of time in that area duck hunting east of Williams and up by Maxwell

Great - really should have made that a PM, but I'm not a big fan of that type of communication.
