Something to kick around for the future . . .

Post by Dick Hosmer »

How many of us, even though we've had contact for up to 50 years, would recognize each other if we passed on the street? I'm a believer in putting a name with a face, or a voice, or whatever. What would the group think of an (optional) "portrait page" for a modest (like 1-1/2" x 2" or so) image of their ugly mugs?

WOW! What a motley mob. Now I do not have to post my picture. Takes a while to get a hundred round into the drum.

So, who is who in that great shot?

Brings back memories - a dear friend of mine, now departed, had one of the first (if not THE first gun made for sale) Thunder Valley replicas, which were exact copies of the 1874, and had some problems with head spacing and bolt fit. Once running (the maker even came out from Ohio to fix it) it was a lot of fun! We took it to the local range, on a day when they were having a trap shoot so the rifle line was empty. Started shooting and caused a real foofaraw. The old shotgun farts came boiling over the side hill screaming "you can't shoot a machine gun here", etc. etc. We got 'em calmed down, but not without some effort. A great day. The gun had a voracious appetite and could unload several days of work very quickly.
