Trapdoor Rifles

Actually, upon looking at the photo of the serial number I took, I think the rifle now in possession of the Fort Klamath Museum is the one sold by McPheeter a few years ago. I think the number could be read either as 8909 or 8969. It also fits the description McPheeter had on his website.

Good to see the name of my old friend Ed Green, long since passed. Actually John Langellier was the curator at PAM and Ed was his assistant. Good times spent there, shooting the breeze and looking through musty back areas . . . My left-hand rifled carbine (offered for sale here) came to me through Ed (and "Big Mitch" Luksich - also gone) in a whirlwind trade that saw it with four separate owners on ONE Saturday . . .
