I have it soaking in WD 40 since yesterday afternoon so hopefully that will help??
I suggest you soak the tang screw in Kroil rather than WD40.
I never had any luck with WD and any of my firearms.
This is what I do for stubborn action screws on various old rifles. I set them up so you can look directly down on them. Apply a few drops of kroil. I then use a jig I made with a stout magnet on it to hold it on my steel table exactly over the screw. I use an old electric soldering iron and place it on the screw head. Let it run for 2 hours . Drop some more kroil on it and repeat several times. I then use a form fit screwdriver and they almost always come out with little effort . It's pretty rare I need an impact screwdriver. On trapdoor breech plugs I modified a spare crescent wrench to match the "V" profile. Use the same kroil & heat trick and they come out almost as often as the screws.
