Hey ya'll. This is DocJoe from South Carolina. I'm soon to be 72 years old, Vietnam Vet and firearms collector for many years. I have a need to liquidate my firearms collection. Injuries from Vietnam finally caught up to me. A friend told me to try this forum regarding selling my Springfield Trapdoors. I am not a dealer ,I was a collector.

Can someone advise me where I can advertise for sale a SA 1886 XC Carbine i purchased from an expert in everything Trapdoor. I'm not looking at the traditional GB, GI etc. I'm looking for a buyer who will celebrate this refile and perhaps other trap collector. Any advoce is appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Docjoe
You can post a for sale ad here on the board but you need to read this thread for the rules
viewtopic.php?t=316

Be sure to "BUY-SALE-TRADE" in the title of the thread
Thanks Don
Thank You

I already have one (335214) but, as an author and historian, would greatly appreciate learning the serial number of yours for inclusion in my data. Thank you in advance. The expert wouldn't happen to be Tony Beck, would it? ;)

Mr. Hosmer,
The S/N of the 1886 XC is 335459. I can't send PM's yet nor do I have permission to post the collectors name on a public forum. He would have no problem with a PM which I'll send when given the rights.

Thanks

You're welcome (but for what I'm not quite sure   ). Should I assume you are not going to answer my questions? The number would only be added to the list of XCs in my book when (and if) a new printing ever comes out - no personal data is saved. The part about Tony was intended to be humorous - he is the only TD expert I know in SC.

Sorry,

I provided the serial number and don't interact with the gentleman you mentioned. All my TD work was with Al Frasca.

Thanks,

There is no better provenance, or source for good trapdoor arms, accessories or information than Dr. Al Frasca, the founder of this site and forum.

What John said!!!! And, thank you for the number! Unfortunately, it is not a "new" one, already having been listed in my book.

M1886 "XC" numbers are few and far between - probably the least represented of guns made in simiular quantities.
