Vibrating tumbler
Are you using a vibrating tumbler for bp cases? I've been using one for over 20 years and now I'm being told that I need a rotary wet cleaner. They seem like a real chore to use, separating the media from the cases, etc. What say, ye?

Re: Case failure
Interestingly, someone mentioned to me that moisture in the chamber may have caused the failure. My blow tube has a .45-70 case. Thanks for the input.

Re: Case failure
Tony,
Should I junk the group of cases that the failed one was in?

Case failure
I had a Winchester case fail. I have to use a custom expander die for my .464 bullets. Does that put excessive wear on my Winchester brass that's been frequently reloaded? The load was 60 gr 1.5 Swiss, .060 wad, 500 gr. bullet. No problem with chambering. Brass has been reloaded at least 20 times.

I have one I might part with. What kind of money are you willing to spend? Mine would have to be sold with its mould and custom expander die.

Re: Peep sights?
A Williams receiver sight with a concave bottom works very well mounted just ahead of the receiver. I glued it with Loctite 380 Black Max. A good wack with a light hammer will knock it off after a little heat and the residue can be cleaned off with acetone or lacquer thinner.

I use a taper crimp die. My TD has a .463+ groove and I'm using a .464 500 gr government bullet to punch paper. I gave up hunting.

Re: Anyone try the Lyman 330 gr. Gould HP bullet mould?
I shot one deer using the Gould in a Sharps. No pass through from a 50 yard shot. I recovered the bullet. It was cast 20:1. I've read comments from Mike Venturino that they tend to fragment badly on big whitetails. Mine exhibited some of that and it was probably 140 pounds live weight.
