BUY-SELL-TRADE RULES (subject to change)

Post by John S. »

NO MORE BUY-SELL-TRADE on this forum. Use the new section exclusively for that purpose.
All current BUY-SELL-TRADE posts will be deleted 30 July. You may move them to the new section if you like.

Seller must start their own new thread for each new listing of items. (Please delete when sold)
Thread subject must start with "BUY-SELL-TRADE"

SELLERS MUST HAVE MADE AT LEAST ONE PRIOR TRAPDOOR RELATED POST BEFORE LISTING ANY ITEMS.

Focus on trapdoor era items, mainly military or related.
This is not an auction site, so list your price.

NO POST 1898 FIREARMS ALLOWED. All state, local and federal laws must be obeyed, including shipping regulations for firearms, ammunition or similar items. It is responsibility of seller and buyer to research the laws and comply.

Photos highly recommended, but not 100% required for everything.

Seller must allow 3 day inspection and full refund (less shipping) if buyer not happy for any reason. (including spouse unhappy you got another gun)

Complaints are between buyer and seller, and no one here will adjudicate.

Complaints to moderator by PM will be considered as possible reason to ban future listing by a seller.

This site only providing a medium for posting information and is not engaged in buying, selling or trading items, and does not have any stake in the transactions and does not collect taxes or keep records of sales or offers to sell.

Moderator reserves right to delete any post at any time for any (or no) reason.

John, you say ALL such posts must begin with "BUY-SELL-TRADE". Did you mean that literally, perhaps as an easy way to make them stand out, or would one of the three be OK alone? As in "WANTED TO BUY"? I'm good either way, just asking, and I don't see anything else that isn't perfectly clear.

Perhaps separating classified if possible from the discussions to prevent muddling up the threads.

How do we delete the post once it’s sold?

ALL- must begin BUY-SELL-TRADE, but you can add whatever you want after that (space permitting)
Maybe a separate area, if the volume justifies it.

TO delete a post, the author should see some boxes over at the top right of the post Click on the one with the "x" to delete that post (and I think all the replies below disappear as well.

I think if someone responds to the post that x disappears, a moderator might have to delete it?

I've crawled all over my screen(s) and have yet to see an "x" anywhere?? Will check out KCA and see if it appears there, and if so where/when. Even though both sites use phpBB, there are minor differences, which I noticed when trying to transfer my avatar when we started. Theoretically migratimng data between phpBB sites is possible, but both would have to be configured to do so.

NOTE: NOT advocating this! just illustrating a point . . .

UPDATE: OK, NOW I see. No one has responded to this post and when I went to make this update, the "X" is there - so, replies DO have something to do with it. FWIW, KCA appears to work the same way.

As long as ads are mixed in with the discussion threads I definitely understand deleting them after items are sold. However, I would respectfully request that if/when a separate classified section is created, the ads and the prices be preserved for future reference.
