The aperture (eye cup) and corresponding dovetailed female part the aperture screws into are missing on the sight pictured below. I won't even ask where I could find original parts, but does anyone believe these two parts could be made by a competent gunsmith who works on old single shot rifle target sights? Maybe not made from scratch but perhaps modify some existing parts to look respectable. Thank you.

Re: OM tang sight
I would contact Montana Vintage Arms with your question. They make such sights for modern and antique rifles, and they are very competent at what they do. I once bought a very nice Remington Hepburn mid-range target rifle that had both it's front and rear sight dovetails badgered by Bubba to the point where nothing standard would fit. They had me send in the remaining sight bases, and they milled new ones to fit the existing bases. They also sell sight cups. They just might be able to fit one of theirs and mill the corresponding part for yours. Good people.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Tom. I saw your post at ASSRA. Thank you very much.
therock3. Thanks for the lead on MVA. I sent an email with the picture of the sight, but unfortunately the lady who responded said they are a production facility and do not do custom work.
