This is one photo of the one that turned up in Baltimore in 2023. A sure winner in the worst refinished category for an otherwise seemingly correct rifle.
I may have more photos and a range report in the future from the current owner.

Well, well - sorta ugly, and, most interestingly (assuming it IS kosher) significantly expands the LONG-held estimate of the number span, which was 162001 to 162048 I certainly hope you can wheedle more info from the guy and pass it along. A LOT of action in "Group II" recently. I'm going to have to accelerate my efforts to get my manuscript back in order for a new printing of "More .45-70s".
