Because of my Trapdoors direct connection to being used during the Spanish-American War and since I have a correct Bayonet, I’m just looking for a sling to go with it as well. I don’t intend to ever carry the rifle with a Sling or use one for stability if I shoot it.
Thanks to carlsr’s advice I went to J&J military antiques site and I found a correct period sling that I’m going to get.

I have really nice original slings on my rifles which are for show NOT carry.
If I were to use them for carry then I'd get a reproduction but I'm real not into reproductions.
I do have a couple that are in new condition and would most likely be strong enough for carry.
Mostly they are there for show which I enjoy.

Thankfully, I only need to get one sling for the one very special trapdoor rifle that I have, and the really nice lady I spoke with at J&J actually gave me a military discount so I was able to get it for less than what they had it posted online.
Once I get the sling I’ll let everyone know if it’s as good as the “Fine” Condition they described it as.

They are usually at the Allentown show, good people to deal with.
Some of there items are pricey and then some are reasonable in today's high pricing

I'm pretty sure your getting the light brown one?
Looks like a good sling at good price for the condition but I like my slings a little darker.
One in that condition would go over 300 on eBay

I’m got the darker brown one because I like the darker slings as well and it’s 68 inches in length, whereas the lighter brown one is 64 inches and I’ve read that those 64 inch ones are harder to make fit onto a trapdoor rifle if you were going to put it on the rifle.
They looked to be in about the same condition.

My 135 year old sling arrived today and I’m happy with it.
It’s 68 inches long from the tip of the two prong brass hook to the folded end where the brass button brad is. If you add the folded portion for the full length of the leather it’s 70 inches from tip of the leather to the end of the hook.
It’s now hanging right beside my bayonet and Model 1884 rifle
