And since Throck3 started a great thread on his cartridge belts and plates I thought, without posting mine, which are pretty much the same except for this one I would post it here, this one with the blue selvedges for Infantry

Thanks for sharing that, 45Govt. I didn't touch on the belts with the colored selvedges. They are super rare, and I've never seen one, first hand. That's a rare buckle with the earlier catch, too! Have you seen the recent repros of the colored selvedge belts from What Price Glory? I think they are pretty good. He actually found a loom operation in India that still weaves like the old Mills belts. I'm having to make do with those until I can find an original.
Again, thanks for sharing that nice infantry belt.

Hello Rick
Thanks, I looked for the repro you mentioned at What Price Glory and could not find it, if you can post a link I would appreciate it.

Another weird one, I still can't figure this one out.
an original and one that is made of, I think, pewter?
I have a copy of "Catalogue of the Ordnance Museum" Rock Island Arsenal from 1909 and it lists Item 12730 "Case Containing Marksmen Medal's"
I think could be a copy that was made for the display, but I have no way to confirm????

Don,
Regarding the What Price Glory colored selvedge Mills belts, I unsuccessfully tried to find them myself. He must have only purchased a short run of them and no longer has them. I found mine when he advertised them on Ebay. As I said, I'll have to be happy with those until I run across originals.

If you Google, "What Price Glory Model 1881 Cavalry (or Infantry) Cartridge Belt", you should find the photos of his Ebay advertisement that shows the quality of them. The belts were great, but his attempts at providing repro buckles were NOT!

Thanks Rick
I found their store and ordered one, looks like it needs to be aged a bit to look good
