This is what I do for stubborn action screws on various old rifles. I set them up so you can look directly down on them. Apply a few drops of kroil. I then use a jig I made with a stout magnet on it to hold it on my steel table exactly over the screw. I use an old electric soldering iron and place it on the screw head. Let it run for 2 hours . Drop some more kroil on it and repeat several times. I then use a form fit screwdriver and they almost always come out with little effort . It's pretty rare I need an impact screwdriver. On trapdoor breech plugs I modified a spare crescent wrench to match the "V" profile. Use the same kroil & heat trick and they come out almost as often as the screws.

Picked up a copper round to go with my forager.
Not sure if it's an original armory loaded shell or a reload??

Tom, finally got to shoot my forager today using the data provided. I ended up using 70 gr. 2F in volume along with an equal amount of #7 shot.Tom Trevor wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 9:56 pm several in our club shoot black powder shotgun both muzzle loading and breech loaders. So I asked one about a load for you and got this 80 grains 1FG or 70 grains 2FG 1.5 ounces of number 7 shot. After you put the top wad in run a light bead of white glue around the edge of wad to retain it This is more for double barrel guns as firing might allow the unglued wad to move causing a loose shot column.
Many loads you find in the old books call for drams of powder one dram is 27.3 grains weight. So average shotgun load would be three drams. Hope this helps.
The rounds performed absolutely wonderful!! I was surprised that the pattern , even with a somewhat chimney pipe bore, was quite tight. I believe even today ,after 140 plus years that this shotgun would still bring home a bountiful supper.
Thanks for the help Tom!!
