Size comparison

For comparison, here is a 45-70 cartridge case next to an 8 Gauge shell.
45-70s aren’t so very big, eh?
The 8 gauge shell is for The Memsahib’s London made double barrel shotgun.

That's one beastly shot gun!!!!
I saw one at a gun show years ago, display only. Sure would of liked to have it!!

I'll bet that hurts at both ends! Has the memsahib shot it? Have you?
Certainly is a thick wall on that case, due obviously to it having been turned rather than drawn.

No, we haven’t fired it yet. I’ll have to find the correct primers.
I figure 1/2 volume of ffg and 1/2 of some type of shot.
Yeah, the shells are turned from solid bar stock.
We also have the reloading and priming tools that came with the shells.
$10:00 per brass 8 gauge shell.
