2nd 1888

So there I was making one of my pilgrimages to the dealer to pick up some bringback pistols (hopefully one of the last, as I - finally - applied for my C&R license). And he, as always, sought to tempt me with his wares, and I, as always, bore up manfully against temptation…until he pulled out the 1888.
And I succumbed to temptation.
Objectively, I probably overpaid a tad at $700+tax - it’s in slightly poorer shape than my first ‘88, which was also right around $700 (in pre-Biden dollars). But I’d been looking for a beater/shooter trapdoor I could take to the range without feeling too guilty, so that was almost a point in its favor.
The bore is a little dusty - we’ll see exactly what I’ve got after a bit of scrubbing. And the ejector moves when the door is opened, but doesn’t quite “pop”, so there needs to be a little exploration there. The last digit of the serial is almost hammered off, but I *think* it was a 6. But at the end of the day, I’m a sucker for a nice solid stock with a good cartouche.
