SOmething different- Brewster Body Shield 1917

Body armor was a hot topic in WW1 with all sorts of innovative ideas submitted. To promote such things, demonstrations or photos were a necessity.
Here is the Brewster Body Shield, proposed circa 1917, a non-articulated 40 pound device which was not adopted.
For demonstration purposes, it was shown being worn by a man holding a Model 1880 trapdoor with the triangular rod bayonet extended.
Not sure if the sight of this would force the evil Huns to submit, or to become ineffective from laughing at the absurdity of it.

Actually, this is one of the very few photos I have ever seen of any rod bayonet extended for use.
