If you are not aware of the Archival Research Group, and a paying supporter, you should be!

They are a team diligently digging in the National Archives digging for firearms related documentation, and they are digitizing it and making much of it available on line to their supporters.

This week, they started posting the Springfield Research Service Quarterly Newsletters on line with FREE access to everyone. This is with the permission of the current SRS owner, Mr. Wayne Gagner. We should all thank Mr. Gagner for his generous permission and support for their efforts to permanently make the work of the late Frank Mallory more widely available.

They have the first 40 issues finished and posted. The newsletters present info as Mallory discovered it, and he worked in several different groups of records simultaneously, sometimes finding gold in all of them, or none, or only some. The newsletter reflects what ever he was able to find in that 90 day period, not in a neat chronological story ona single topic from beginning to end, but the bits and pieces which authors and researchers could later weave into books or articles. (Such as Mallory did with his Krag Rifle Story.)
