I sincerely hope and pray that all of our SoCal members are safe from the fires....

We received an evacuation notice in the middle of the night. The fire was far away enough that we just watched it thru the night until it moved another direction in the morning. Hurst fire at the 5-14 freeway split.
Fellow collector in Pacific Palisades was not so lucky home gone. Not sure if any of his collection went out with him or?

Ouch - the Hurst fire actually had some containment last time I looked.

What about Don Harpold? Any others that I do not know where they live?

Dick we are good the fire is contained and all road closures and evacuation orders have been lifted. If only the rest were as fortunate.
Don Harpold has left us down here and now lives in northern California.

My son lives in Sacramento, luckily far north from the fires

Tom, glad to hear all is well, hope son and daughter are out of harms way.

I am in Nevada City CA now so there is always the threat of fires here so just keep hoping nothing happens as we are surrounded by pines and cedars and oaks.

Thought you lived in SoCal? You must be hanging out with Bob Butterfield! Yes, that area is worrisome too; remember the Paradise fire... We are in open farmland, right on a river, so reaonably safe.

I did live in Van Nuys for a long time and then moved to San Jose for work and then retired and moved up with my dad in Nevada City in 2018
Bob lives right around the corner from me
