Re: Buy Sell Trade carbine/Rifle butt plate

That is the second one I was referring to I think. It was farther down in the listings.

Re: Buy Sell Trade carbine/Rifle butt plate

I think I saw at least two. I did not look at them in detail but the one further down the listings looked decent, at least from a first glance. For some reason it seems an awful lot of these rifles spent a lot of time in basements, propped against a wall and collected a lot of moisture around the bu...

Re: carbine 12221

I would be terribly disappointed in RIA if they did not make the questions and concerns of some highly respected collector community members known to their prospective bidders. Especially for an item that is estimated by them to bring $65 to $110K. This issue sort of becomes an ethics test for the a...

Re: Fort Totten

I live in North Dakota and have been a member of the North Dakota State Historical Board which oversees Fort Totten as a state historic site. I have stayed at the Fort Totten officer's quarters on numerous occasions. John is spot on in terms of it being a military post well worth seeing. It has the ...

Re: Picked up an excellent plus 1884 rifle

Re: 1884 stuck firing pin

If the block is peened a bit over the firing pin hole from dry firing, you may need to relieve the edges a bit to be able to remove the firing pin from the block.

Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!

I certainly concur with everything that Dick has said.
Thanks, John, for picking up the torch.
There have been some great discussions so far, as well as some really interesting posts such as the marksmanship article today.
I'm sure things will pick up over time as people find their way here.
