Just wondering has anyone ever used a steamer to clean the barrel of a trapdoor or any other black powder rifle? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Link to the the cleaner https://shop.davide-pedersoli.com/en/pr ... eaner.html.
Thank you in advance.

I've never used one but then again at that price I probably never will
I find a good black powder solvent like slip 2000 and a couple patches works just fine.

At over 600 euros plus shipping and taxes I doubt you will find anyone who has one and uses it. With some tubing and fittings you could make something to flush out a muzzle loader rifle for a few dollars.
Like carlsr I will stay with rods and patches.

Thank you for the responses, I was thinking better to use cleaners that have oil. I wonder the hot steam or just using hot water will create rust. Thanks

frank, If you clean a muzzle loader with HOT water you get flash rust at once. You have to follow fast with solvent or gun oil at once to stop it.Solvents or colds water is what I have used for the last sixty years.
