Thanksgiving

Post by John S. »

We all have reasons to be thankful. Some for overflowing bounties of rewards, others may be more at the "thankful it was not as bad as it could have been." So, give thanks for what we have received.

One thing folks who visit here have to celebrate is the fact that in March 2023 our founder, Dr. Albert Frasca, was willing to let someone else adopt his digital baby and keep it going. Although I have not yet been able to incorporate some of the additional features to further improve things, the software upgrade to allow photo posting and full keyboard features has made life a lot more enjoyable. The archive of Trapdoor Newsletters will get posted, I promise!

But, this site's credit for any current success rests with the people who post here, asking and answering about trapdoor era arms and related materials. We all learn a lot, and enjoy sharing our knowledge for its immediate value, with the bonus that "the internet is forever" so this info will be available for future scholars, collectors and casual visitors. If this site eventually fizzles out, the material will likely continue to be accessible via the "wayback machine" at https://archive.org/. That wonderful operation is not government funded, and I encourage you to join me in donating a few bucks to them every year.

So, HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!

Which reminds me. I need to show you my Pilgrim Blunderbuss. Some might ask if that is appropriate here. But, it really is a TRAPDOOR BLUNDERBUSS!

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and especially to you, John, for taking on the responsibility of keeping the torch going . . .
