As per Tom's suggestion, here are some photos or a new made Parker Snow Miller Conversion firing pin. In my opinion the gun smith did an excellent job!!
I'd like to find an original to have for my rifle should anyone have one of these laying around in small parts accumulated over the years.
Thanks in advance!
At the thickest point it's 1/4" and around 1 3/16" long.

That's just down-right weird looking! Never seen ANYTHING like that before, and if I had one, would NEVER suspect it to be a firing pin with the sharp edges/points. First thing that comes to my mind, if I found one on the floor, would be that it was some sort of cutting tool.

Yes it is Dick! The angled beveled cut on the side is where the pin goes in between the breech block and lifting latch. Not sure how that cut was made, even back then.Dick Hosmer wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2023 3:13 pm That's just down-right weird looking! Range trip today with my Miller conversion and 1st Allin conversion. Have to say after a few rounds down range with both the Miller conversion was more accurate and easier to load, fire and eject.
Shot both at 50 yards, 1st shot hit just below bullseye and second was dead on with the Miller.
All shots with the 1st Allin were low and to the left.
Only thing I didn’t like with the Miller was some slight gas escaping that I could feel on my face
The base of the 28 gauge shot shell brass is slightly thinner than the original .58 rim fire case. I need to figure out a way to increase the base so that the breech may better seal.

Re: Original miller conversion firing pin needed
Maybe an O-ring? Even if it only lasts one shot, it should work. A brass washer would be best, but finding the exact size is likely impossible.
Re: Original miller conversion firing pin needed
An O ring may be my only option. I've looked at arbor shims, you can get the thickness needed but the diameter is way over.

I believe I found a solution, rather inexpensive also. I tried making plastic washers at work but couldn’t cut them thin enough on our lathe. While looking at the ones I cut and thought a small rubber band could work?? Went on Amazon, although I don’t like buying from them I ran across rubber bands for braces I ordered a pack of 3/16 medium bands for 5.99 which arrived today. Slipped one on a case then chambered it in my rifle and the rim was just outside the chamber. Closed the breech and it locked up as it should.Dick Hosmer wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 12:25 am Maybe an O-ring? Even if it only lasts one shot, it should work. Now to take it to the range and see if this inexpensive fix will stop the blow back.

I found an O-ring that catches the extractor and seals gas on my .58 Centerfire Remington Rolling Block.
Re: Original miller conversion firing pin needed
Nice Fred! O rings were a tad too fat as they stuck out the sides too far. The rubber bands for braces shrink down in thickness as they stretch out and end up being just a tad over the rim.
