Okay, I have to confess this place is run by an ignorant amateur. That would be me. I am a gun guy and historian, not a tech geek, but I moonlight as one in some cases where no one qualified is willing to step up and do geek stuff for free. That is my contribution to supporting the gun collecting hobby. I would gladly turn over all the tech stuff to anyone willing to do it who knows how to do this stuff, and it would probably be a lot better.

I have no prior experience with this forum software (or any other forum software), but with help of a friend who set the new version of Al's site up for our use, I am kinda sorta able to make it work. I am pretty comfortably now doing about 10 things I have figured out, although the software is capable of doing all sorts of wonderful stuff. Sorta like this little machine in my pocket that I talk on when it makes noise, and can search the internet, and take a few photos. But, the gazillion other "smart" things it can do are beyond my ken. I think it has an age warning- not suitable for anyone over 40 years old.

I have come to realize that the "First forum" section is a sample or place holder to show dummies how to set stuff up. I set up the "Trapdoor collector discussion board" as a separate "forum" and was not really sure what would happen if I deleted the "first forum." I may take it off and see if the site blows up, or maybe just leave it there.

As with many retirees, I keep very busy, and am way behind with many "like to do" things, like getting Al's Newsletters added.

Now you know.

Thanks - that's about what I'd figured. I know you plan segregated areas for various archived resources, such as the Newsletters. All in good time. :D
