Trapdoor Creedmoor Display Long Range Rifle 45-80-500
All,
I finally got my stand (from http://www.gunstands.com) to begin creating a Trapdoor Long Range Rifle Creedmoor Rifles Display. The top two rifles are LRR 45-80-500 with 6 land and grooves. The top rifle has a checkered thumb rest and a Ketlon trigger. Both have the special Bulls modified rear sight knob for windage. The third rifle is a 1881 service rifle to show the difference between the rifles. The wooden cleaning rod is a Springfield cleaning rod that was sent with the rifles pursuant to my research. On top of the wooded ammo box is a full box of 45-80-500 bullets from Frankford Arsenal. These two LRR rifles were ordered by Captain Litchfield for the 1879 Creedmoor matches. For more information on LRR please see the Trapdoor Newsletter or buy the book from Mr. Hosmer " More 45-70 Springfields 1873-1893 The Uncommon, the scarce and the Rare", This is a great book and i have learned a lot form the book.
Best,
Frank D

Outstanding!!! I have vicariously enjoyed watching your collection grow - and thanks for the plug! Only regret having to sell my Sharp's sighted example a couple of years ago. Still have to restore my second 'plain' one. Will have to dig out that [SWP] stock for you - I know it's in the stash somewhere!

Kelton trigger? Can you show details of that?
Re: Trapdoor Creedmoor Display Long Range Rifle 45-80-500
Picture of the Kelton trigger. Based on research only a few Trapdoors hav a Kelton trigger. The trigger is serrated. This trigger is not the same as the 1884 serrated trigger.
