Interesting video of Mr. Rush at his shop, it is a tour of his shop. I wonder what happened to his collection. Link: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HRy0SOlTWfQ

Re: carbine 12221
Thanks for sharing, Frank! One thing that was true, he DID have the stuff!!! And, VERY well organized too. I saw something similar many years ago, so he must have made more than one, as this does not seem familiar.
Just for grins, any one else want to comment on the front sight of that 1873C he is "putting together" (his words) at the beginning of the video? To my eye,it looks a bit too close to the muzzle and a bit too tall - but then, I freely admit to prejudice....

Re: carbine 12221
I have had some dialog (emails back and forth) with a Mr. Laurence Thomson of RIA. I explained my recollections, and to his credit, he listened politely and - at my suggestion - apparently did some internet research, finding some of Keith's old sale lists, but not one showing 12221 as a cadet. RIA treated my info with far more respect than I had expected, but, they have informed me that the auction listing will proceed as currently written. Be guided accordingly, both as to the item itself, and also the underlying policies. Business is business, caveat emptor...

It went for 50K. Hope the buyer knows the history but I would think not. Interesting auction. I think their estimates are in general high. Still early in the auction but many are not meeting estimate.

Re: carbine 12221
That's a lot for a receiver and a bunch of words. Wonder if the buyer will show up here asking how he did?

Re: carbine 12221
That is way to much, when taking into consideration all the issues related to the receiver. I would like to know if it was a private collector or a museum.
Best,
Frank D

Yeah, me too, but I highly doubt that RIA would ever divulge the identity of ANY buyer, let alone one on a lot which had sparked serious (to the point of skirting - if not actual - fraud) controversy....

Re: carbine 12221
I am not sure it did sell as the prices realized have been posted on the Rock Island site and it is not shown as to price as are most others are when sold. Perhaps the bidder withdrew his offer?
Type 1 OM 11750, type 2 om 19995, type 3 om no sale price listed, carbine sn 146243 11,750!! It is as new.
