Not trapdoor related but BP related

Post by carlsr »

Recently my brother purchased a large amount of reloading supplies, ammo, bullet molds and so on.
In those supplies he found several boxes of loaded brass cases with a small ignition hole. There's a small round piece of colored tape covering the ignition hole. I believe they may be either 45 or 50 caliber?? I'm not sure what rifle these cases would be for but hoping someone here may know.

That looks like one of the brass Smith Carbine cases that N-SSA skirmishers use.

Thank you Tony!
I've seen the straight cases available for the Smith carbine but hadn't seen this type with what I guess is just knurling to better grab the case?? I've also seen the plastic ones which I believe he also has but with no flash hole.
Thanks again Tony!!
