John, have you thought any more about adding a small buy-sell-trade area? Or, do you just plan on continuing to allow informal chit-chat back and forth between "members" as recently with Fred's 1868s?

Maybe. Got something you want to sell?
There needs to be a critical mass of activity to make it (a) worthwhile and (b) successful for buyers and sellers.
If no activity listing items, buyers won't check. If buyers won't check, stuff won't sell.
The volume of postings on the forum is not overwhelming, and diverting some posts to a second buy/sell/trade area might diminish activity here, which would hurt participation.

I do have some trapdoor era stuff I will be peddling over on my OldGuns.net site, which I could list here (instead or cross post).
But, I don't want to turn this into a thinly disguised place for me to peddle junque, but rather keep to friendly discussion among informed collectors and those wishing to learn more. If other folks wanted to sell some stuff that's fine with me.

I can move it to a separate area if the volume justifies. I enjoyed seeing those wonderful 1868 dated rifles.

Thanks - probably best to leave it as is, at least for the present, for the reasons you state.
