Identify blanks?

Post by FrankTrost »

I believe these are blanks. Two are marked WRA Co 45-70 (big one and smaller), and one is blank (remaining smaller). I have not found anywhere yet to sort of ID and get a ballpark of the time frame. The tall one is just over 2.5 inches, and the smaller ones are about 2.1 inches. Any help is appreciated.

early blanks were made from defective Benet primed cases. yours are from 1880s. Tall one is seldom seen as its for the Gatling gun. They did not feed well with standard length blanks so the longer blank was used. This from a friend who owned an original 1883 Gatling that both moderator 45govt. and I have fired.
